Proguard Workwear: B2B Website Redesign Case Study

Client: Proguard Workwear
Industry: Workwear, Branded Clothing & Promotional Products
Project: B2B Website Design & Development
Website: https://www.proguardworkwear.com
More Than Just a New Website
When your business offers an enormous variety of products, how do you showcase them online without overwhelming your customers?
That was the challenge facing Proguard Workwear, a supplier of professional workwear, personalised uniforms, embroidered clothing and branded promotional merchandise to businesses across the UK.
Following the end of its relationship with a previous website provider, Proguard needed a fresh online presence that would:
- Reflect its established brand
- Clearly communicate its services
- Make it easier for customers to explore its extensive product range.
But as the project developed, it became clear that this was about much more than creating an attractive new website.
For Beyond Your Brand, this B2B website redesign project was an opportunity to rethink how customers discover products, explore supplier collections, and request quotes online.
And that's where the project became particularly interesting.

The Challenge: Finding the Right Way to Showcase the Products
Proguard works with a wide range of suppliers, offering everything from everyday workwear and specialist clothing to personalised workwear, embroidered uniforms, branded merchandise, corporate gifts and promotional products.
With an extensive collection of supplier catalogues, many supplied as PDFs, Proguard needed a way to bring these ranges together into one accessible online experience.
Simply uploading a long list of downloadable documents wouldn't provide the engaging, professional browsing experience the business wanted. Equally, building thousands of individual product pages would introduce unnecessary complexity.
As a B2B workwear supplier, Proguard also needed a website that supported the way its customers actually buy. Businesses often need to compare products, explore branding options and request prices for specific quantities before placing an order.
The website also needed to support Proguard's personalised, customer-focused approach to business.
The challenge for BYB was to create a professional B2B website that made a vast product offering feel straightforward, organised and easy to explore, while giving potential customers a clear route to making an enquiry.
The Solution: Making the Catalogues the Centrepiece
Rather than treating the supplier catalogues as an additional feature, we made them a central part of the website experience.
We created two clear routes into Proguard's product offering: Clothing & Workwear and Promotional Products.
This allows customers to head straight towards the products they're interested in, whether they already know which supplier they want or are simply browsing for inspiration.
It also gives Proguard a more organised way to showcase its branded workwear, staff uniforms and promotional merchandise without creating and maintaining individual pages for every product.

1. Interactive Flipbooks: Bringing Supplier Catalogues to Life
Traditional PDF catalogues can contain hundreds of pages of valuable product information, but asking customers to download and open multiple files can make browsing unnecessarily cumbersome.
We wanted to offer something more engaging.
By presenting supplier catalogues as interactive online flipbooks, customers can explore extensive product ranges directly through the website, turning pages just as they would with a printed catalogue.
This creates a familiar, visually engaging way to discover what's available, without the need to download individual documents.

For a business offering everything from embroidered workwear and branded polo shirts to corporate gifts, this approach makes large supplier collections more accessible without sacrificing the breadth of choice.
For the Clothing & Workwear section, visitors can explore catalogues from Proguard's different suppliers. The Promotional Products section brings together ranges across categories including drinkware, bags, gifts and technology.
Why does this matter for customers?
They can:
- Browse extensive supplier ranges in one convenient place.
- Explore different brands and product categories without navigating away from the website.
- Discover products and ideas they might not initially have considered.
- Enjoy a more engaging browsing experience than a conventional list of PDF downloads.
Importantly, the catalogue entries can also be updated as suppliers release new editions, helping Proguard keep its online offering current.
For other B2B businesses managing extensive product catalogues, it's an example of how thoughtful website design can simplify product discovery without requiring a traditional e-commerce store.
2. A Smarter Way to Search, Select and Request a Quote
While the interactive flipbooks provide an engaging way to explore supplier ranges, Proguard's Main Clothing Catalogue takes the experience a step further.
We integrated a Proguard-branded catalogue supplied by PenCarrie directly into the website, giving customers access to a much more detailed product-search experience.

Rather than simply browsing page by page, visitors can search and filter products by criteria including:
- Product type and intended use
- Brand and collection
- Colour
- Specific product requirements
Once customers have found something suitable, they can select products, specify details such as colour and quantity, and submit a product-specific quotation request.
This is where the real value of the integration becomes clear.
The catalogue doesn't just help customers discover what Proguard offers. It provides a clear route from finding a suitable product to making an informed enquiry.
For customers, this makes the whole process much more straightforward.
For Proguard, it offers a practical way to receive more specific product enquiries, with customers able to identify the items they're interested in before getting in touch.
Instead of receiving a general enquiry about workwear or branded clothing, Proguard can receive requests that already include relevant product selections and quantities.
And all of this is achieved without the complexity of building and maintaining thousands of individual product listings on the main website.

Beyond the Catalogues: A Website That Reflects the Business
Proguard prides itself on offering practical advice, personal service and a range of in-house customisation capabilities. It was important that these strengths were reflected throughout the website.
We carried Proguard's distinctive black and lime-green branding into a bold, modern design, combining strong product imagery, confident typography and straightforward navigation.
Alongside the catalogues, the website introduces visitors to the business itself, the industries it supports and the services that make its offering distinctive.
Dedicated information covering artwork guidelines and application methods helps customers understand how their branding can be applied to clothing and merchandise, while prominent contact and quotation routes make it easy to take the next step.
The result is a website that balances independent product discovery with the personal service at the heart of Proguard's business.
The Result: A Website That Works Harder for Proguard
What began as a requirement for a straightforward, information-led website has evolved into a much more valuable digital platform for Proguard Workwear.
The finished website does more than establish a professional online presence. It brings together an extensive product offering in a way that is accessible, engaging and designed around how customers actually want to browse.
The key achievements of this website redesign include:
- A clearer customer journey: Two distinct product areas make it easier for visitors to find their way around an extensive offering.
- A better catalogue experience: Interactive flipbooks bring supplier collections online in a more engaging and accessible format.
- A more direct route to enquiries: The searchable Main Catalogue allows customers to identify products and submit detailed quotation requests.
- A stronger brand presence: The design reflects Proguard's identity, expertise and customer-focused approach.
- A foundation for future growth: The website provides scope for additional industry-specific pages, educational content and further development.
Although it's still early days in terms of measuring website performance and enquiries, Proguard's initial feedback has been really positive. The client was particularly pleased with how easy the catalogues are to browse and described the finished website as a transformation.
There are already discussions about developing the website further, potentially introducing dedicated pages for the different industries Proguard supplies, along with a blog to share more of its knowledge and expertise.
A Practical Solution to a Complex Web Redesign Challenge
One of the things we love most about this project is that it demonstrates how effective website design isn't always about creating something complicated.
Sometimes, the smartest solution is finding a better way to bring existing resources together.
By combining engaging catalogue browsing, a powerful third-party product-search tool and a carefully considered website design, we've helped Proguard turn an extensive collection of supplier resources into a far more cohesive online experience.
For businesses with large product ranges, multiple suppliers, or complex quotation processes, this website design case study shows why the right functionality matters just as much as the finished design.
